Serena Hotels is a Hospitality Company which was founded in 1969 and trades as TPS under the Agha Khan Fund for Economic Development as its parent Company. Serena Hotels operates up-scale hotels & resorts in East & South Africa as well as in South Asia.
The Serena Collection of tented camps and lodges, span some of the most evocative, exotic and enchanting wilderness destinations in East Africa. The company comprises a collection of 36 luxury resorts, Safari lodges/getaways & hotels as well as City Hotels.

Serena hotel had the TBX Series Telephony System that was purely analogue. That meant that they were restricted to a few services such as;

1. Receiving and making internal calls.
2. Making external calls using telephone service providers.
